1. Key Stage 3
 

'St John’s nurture curriculum in September of Year 7 provides a creative and dynamic learning experience for its students’

During Years 7, 8 and 9 students follow a broad and balanced curriculum. This enables them to learn and achieve in a variety of subject areas and skills. Student progress is measured, tracked and monitored at key times throughout the three years to ensure that ALL students maximise their academic potential

 
2. Key Stage 4
 

‘St John’s Key Stage 4 curriculum enables all its students to gain the necessary qualifications so they can pursue the post 16 pathway of their choice’

During Year 10 and 11, students follow a well structured and personalised curriculum that enables them to follow courses that they are both interested in and have a natural aptitude for. St John’s also remains committed to ensuring that ALL students maximise their academic potential during this key stage. To ensure this is successfully achieved, students follow a thorough and guided programme of activities to support the overall process. This includes information evenings, parents’ evening, personal interviews and career guidance.

 
3. Home Learning

Homework at St John’s:

reinforces the skills and understanding that have already been introduced in the classroom

  • enables students to develop confidence and motivation to study on their own
  • helps to prepare students for life-long learning
