Digital Video ICT Focus Day
What Lewis had to say...
On Monday, 11th June 2007 Year 7 students at St John’s had an ICT Focus Day in which they did digital videoing. They had to film an advertisement about various products ranging from bags and books to hot sauce and hats. They also had the choice to advertise using a film. One of the silliest ones was Jackass 3 where students did very silly things, things they could do without getting hurt obviously. Then they connected video cameras to laptops and went on movie maker where they were taught to add various effects and music. The longest any advert could be was 20 seconds with at least 8 shots which was really hard even for the cleverer students. At the end most of them were successful though some weren’t. It was a day all Year 7 students enjoyed.

What Callum had to say...
Me and my group had to advertise Pringles. It was really fun experience because we got to use video cameras. It took a lot of hard work to plan what to put in our advert. I had to video each part twice and then choose on the computer which one was better filmed. As a group we also had to write a script for each scene and plan how we were going to advertise the pringles in it. After we had done all the script we started to film, Making this video was fun and gave me and my group a chance to learn about advertising. It gave us experience in selling something and could become useful in the future. I really enjoyed filming it as well.
