All parents, carers and teachers of students at St John’s School are automatically members of the PTA. The PTA has a number of functions, including:

  • providing links between parents and carers, teachers and students and the local community
  • fundraising for the New School
  • organising social events and activities to support parent involvement.

Why parents, teachers and students should become involved:

The additional activities and fundraising events clearly enhance the students’ overall learning experience at St John’s.

Members of the PTA committee will help out and support School events; this gives an opportunity for parents/carers to get to know other parents/carers and school staff.

How you can become involved:

  • becoming a committee member: posts include Chair, Treasurer and Secretary
  • helping at fundraising or social events
  • supporting events whenever possible

Remember, without you and your involvement, valuable fundraising to support your child's education cannot go ahead. We can make a difference! Let's see how much money we can raise to enhance the learning of the students of St John's School. .

Our aim is to establish a Family-School Partnership; 'a PTA can support successful partnerships that ultimately improve student achievement' (National PTA Website)

If you feel you cannot commit your time to meetings, please come along to fundraising events or make a donation to St John's School Association, via the School Office.

Next meeting Thursday 3rd November 2011 at 6.00 p.m.
