PTA: (Parent Teacher Association)

Welcome to the St John’s School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) page.

All parents, carers and teachers of students at St John’s School are automatically members of the PTA.

The PTA has a number of functions, including

• providing links between parents & carers, teachers and students and the local community
• fundraising for the School
• organising social events

The Association is run by a committee of parents and teachers and meets once per half term. The parents’ representatives are elected at the Annual General Meeting, which is usually held in September.

Why parents, teachers and students should become involved:

The additional activities and fundraising events clearly enhance the students’ overall learning experience at St John’s. Recent PTA fundraising activities have included:

• quiz night
• ladies night
• bingo
  

Members of the PTA committee help out and support School events; this gives an opportunity for parents/carers to get to know other parents/carers and school staff.

How you can become involved:

In a variety of ways; by

• becoming a committee member: posts include chair, treasurer and secretary
• helping at fundraising or social events
• supporting events whenever possible
