St John’s is first and foremost a community school, welcoming students of all faiths and abilities and has become the first choice for parents within the Epping area. The achievements of both staff and students were recognised by Ofsted when we achieved our second consecutive
'Good' grading in June 2009; the main judgement stating that:

St John’s provides

a good standard of education.

We are justifiably proud that in 2008, our Year 11 students had made more progress since Year 7 than students at all other 11-16 schools in Epping Forest District.

A Church of England School, St John's promotes Christian values and takes seriously its role in serving the Epping area. Students respond well to a range of activities which allow them to reflect on the spiritual aspects of life.

Our Engineering Specialism enhances the curriculum and the life-long aspirations of our students.

Plans are well advanced for a new building for September 2011 to provide an outstanding environment for learning, benefiting our own students and the whole Epping community.

Our website provides easy access to information for parents and carers and additional support for students, extending their education and preparation for life beyond St John's.
